Tearing Out Tile

We’re getting rid of the old floor in order to make way for the new one. Here is the before photo of parts of our family room and kitchen.

Early this morning we started covering all the furniture with sheets and plastic. The prep work is similar to the prep work done before a painting job. Here’s what we’re looking at for the next few days. Lots of plastic. The photo below is the loft.

Here’s our some of the bigger pieces of furniture clustered in the living room.

Finally, you can see what the family room looks like now with most of the tile removed.

This is part of the kitchen tile that needs to come up.

All this remodeling reminds me of how God takes our lives and remodels them. We get rid of the old life and put on the new life. This is what is says in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:”

Do you think I’m going to be in a mess for a while?

OMG You certainly do have dust. Have you been staying out of the house or are you there supervising ? I’m sure the end results will look great.

Wow! Reminds me of the time we remodeled a back bedroom. Not quite as hard as doing a kitchen but it looks like things are coming along nicely. Definitely have to eat somewhere else though:)

    • Charity, thanks for visiting my blog. Now that the tile is all gone, I can probably do a little uncomplicated cooking now that the dust has settled. We’ve eaten out a noon and just had snacks for supper.

Yep, I think it will be a mess for a while…lol…but hope the time goes fast for you! I know it will look beautiful soon!

I think you are going to have a mess for a little while but once everything is completed, it will be nice to sit back and see the end results. When we remodeled our living room, we had a lot of dust, hard on you if you have a lot of allergies like I do. If you are like me, you get tired of eating out so hopefully you will be able to enjoy home cooked meals at least for a few days. Thanks for sharing the pictures and I look forward to seeing pictures after everything is done.
